Photography Tips 101!

Photography is one of the most important elements of the Fashion Industry. Photography allows us to see whats happening and going on all around the world. There are many different types of  photography whether you want to do portraits, family, models, traveling, runway you can do anything! Here are some 101 insider tips from the photographers of Chic Academy Fashion Club!

                Drake Evans

1) Shoot what you love. Don't let anyone change your vision. If you want to be a photographer, it should be your vision, not someone else's.

2) Be different. You need to set yourself aside from everyone else.

3) Just get practice. No one is ever perfect, so always try to better yourself.  

Alexandra Plattner

1) Don't be afraid to get outside your comfort zone! Program your camera on the manual setting.

2) Try to get the perfect combination of lighting and shadows. Natural light is a photographers best friend.

3)Always give yourself plenty of time and take a lot of pictures, but be selective on which photos you want to "publish".

Print Sweaters
With the entire sweater rage this past winter season, seeing many new fabrics, on unique trend is heading this way: Print sweaters. Now whether they are all out prints, or screen sweaters, they make a very powerful statement.

Paneling
From color blocking to stripes, we've seen it all. But, one interesting thing we haven’t seen so much of, is paneling with unique fabrics.

Prints
Prints are making their way back into the fashion seen, everything from floral, to Aztec, to very unique prints, they are definitely making a  very bold statement.

Whether your trying to find, or already have that special person that gives you goosebumps, giggles, and butterflies what you wear is always a big factor! One important thing to consider when going out on a first date, meeting the parents, hanging out or any other special occasion is to dress to impress! Well its your lucky day because Chic Academy Fashion Club Members have put together tips, tricks, and advice of the Do's and Dont's for all of you scrambling through your closets!

"Going on a date holds so many possibilities... it can be thrilling, exhilarating, fun, adventurous... or boring... but we wont talk about that, haha. I want to look beautiful, sweet, and smart but not like I'm trying too hard. I want to look tasteful and classy but not boring. I want my outfit to say I'm sexy and confident but still be approachable and friendly. I know... tall order right! I keep all of these things in mind when picking my ensemble."

One of Chic Academy's favorites Nina Garcia's Look Book: What to Wear for Every Occasion has so much amazing advice for dressing for any occasion! This book has an entire chapter on dating, covering topics like- What to Wear after you've been cruelly dumped, what to wear for a Netflix Night In, and even What to Wear to Meet your Boyfriend's Friends! Chic Academy highly recommends this book, Its soooo insightful and has great date night advice!

"This was my outfit for my date today, I really like this boy so I wanted to dress like myself and feel pretty but be pretty comfortable. I wore a really simple black dress with a sweater over it, my normal knee highs, and my lucky quartz necklace. For my hair I just brushed out my curls while my hair was drying and took a straightener to it. I did my normal cat eye and no lipstick;) anyways, if you're still reading this still, know that the best way to fall in love is by being yourself. You don't have to love yourself to have someone love you, having someone love you will make you full of love."  <3 Alex


#2 Date-Night Look by Hayley Hyer

Hayley wore a crop to from UO (Urban Outfitters), skirt from H&M, and tights from Forever 21. She curled her hair with a 2 inch ceramic iron, wore nude lipstick, very light blush and emphasized her eyes with dark shades of brown and gold.

Hayley said, " I think this could also work for a nice dinner date" when talking about her flirty ensemble.
